Individual and Family Therapy

Therapy is a process used to address and resolve problematic behaviors, thoughts, beliefs, and/or relationships.

It allows an individual a supportive environment where he/she can speak openly with someone who is objective and nonjudgmental. There are false beliefs that therapy is for people who “have something wrong with them.” This is unfortunate because therapy can be a very beneficial tool for most people.

At. Dr. Ditzell Psychiatry therapy means helping our clients achieve the results they set out to achieve. This can be work on mental health related illnesses such as depression, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, etc., but it also includes many every day struggles that most people experience. We help individuals who are experiencing life changes, such as career change or divorce; we help people who want to explore their life meaning or people who need to learn how to focus on themselves and learn to love and accept themselves; we help people who need to learn how to forgive and let go, as well as individuals who need to learn assertiveness and self-expression.

Therapy at Dr. Ditzell Psychiatry is a chance for our clients to explore areas of their life they have previously neglected; it is a chance for our clients to reconnect with loved ones and form stronger relationships; and it is a place where our clients can get help managing their everyday life stressors.

Life is busy and it can be difficult to make time for oneself, but the benefits of taking a little bit of time to work on the things that give us problems is unparalleled.
