A psychiatric consultation is based on your psychological, biological, medical, and social causes of distress. Dr. Ditzell will work with you to review current and past stressors, along with any relevant lab work and medical records to come up with a feasible, appropriate treatment plan.
The initial consultation is typically 45 minutes in length, and consists of the patient’s history, symptoms, and goals in seeking treatment. Dr. Ditzell will make recommendations for treatment based on this initial consultation, and may request lab work to determine possible options for treatment.
It is important to remember that the issues you’re facing didn’t develop over night, and they will not be “cured” in a day; any worthwhile treatment will take time, patience, and work from both the patient and the doctor. Dr. Ditzell is committed to each of his patients and is determined to work with them to improve their situation and get them better.
